- What types of companies do you service?
CostDown Consulting provides services to several types of companies. Most of our clients are companies that use trucks and drivers to service their business or their customers. Examples include: Freight, Solid Waste, Energy, Beverage, Auto Haul, Private Fleets, etc… We also provide analytical services to equity companies researching investments in the Transportation Industry and Expert Speaker services to Clients and Industry Associations wanting presentations on our areas of expertise.
- What is typical size of the fleet operating companies you service?
Most of our clients have a fleet size of 60 - 800 trucks.
- What are your areas of expertise?
Our Service Offering includes: Laden Mile Improvement Plans, Performance Management Programs, Fleet Efficiency Plans, Driver Retention Programs, Operations Audits and Driver Manager Training. We also manage SmartWay partnerships for clients and provide customized presentations for Manager Meetings and Industry Conventions.
Our focus is cost control. Regardless if we work with a client's C-Level executive group or their management teams in the field, our mission is to develop programs and training that improve Terminal and Driver Manager performance. We like to summarize the value we provide to our clients this way: "We make Bottom Line Performers out of Trucking's Front Line Managers".
- What is your most frequently requested service?
During a strong economy, Driver Retention is our most requested service. CostDown Consulting developed a very effective and comprehensive Driver Retention Program that has reduced turnover by as much as 40%. In 2008, CostDown Consulting was invited to present their Driver Retention Program to three separate American Trucking Association annual conferences.
During a weak economy, our Laden Mile Improvement, Driver Manager Training and Performance Management Programs are most in demand due to client need to reduce operating costs to offset declining revenues.
- How do you help fleet operating companies reduce their costs?
CostDown Consulting is an Analysis, Process and Training solutions provider. That means we change the way your work is managed to improve control and performance of your employees, assets and network. Our approach is to analyze client operations to baseline how these areas are currently managed and then develop the required reports, new processes and training needed to improve performance and the control of drivers, fleet and network.
